I graduated (B.Sc) from Delhi University in 2022 ans spent 3 years preparing for UPSC and govt exams. With a 4 year gap and no work experience, I'm worried that even if i get into a top iim, my profile may pose major challenges during placements.
It is not so black and white. Placements are a function of many things - your grades, your personality, your performance in their screening assessments, etc. A 4yrs gap after graduation is not common, but it is not a taboo either. You can easily explain it. But what i would weather urgently you to consider is that your ain to join IIM should not be about getting the campus placement. Rather think of how many ways it will upskill you, enhance your knowledge, understanding and thinking ability. And that is whatbwill shape your career. Focussing and deciding basis the prospects of campus placement is too short-sighted and myopic. See the larger picture. And most importantly - cross the bridge when you come to it. All the best!
Subhangi Priya - Thank you Sir for your valuable insights Given my background and financial investment involved i initially had some hesitation about whether the program would be the right fit for me However your perspective helped me see the long term value and growth the program offers I truly appreciate your time and guidance
